If you are looking for a funny, engaging and easy reading book for your Summer holidays or just because…LOOK NO FURTHER!!
This is not a book review but simply a recommendation. Personally I refuse to read book reviews because I hate spoilers. I find that I am always deterred from reading a book nothwithstanding an excellent review!
If you enjoyed the previous Bridget Jones books by Helen Fielding ..this one will not disappoint you!
In MAD ABOUT THE BOY, 20 years later, Bridget Jones returns at the age of 51 years. Some things never changed, others drastically! Still hilarious and at times thought provoking! Bridget’s old friends are still hanging around & a few new ones are introduced.
A light romantic comedy written in a colloquial tone. So much so that most of the time I felt that I was in the same room with Bridget Jones…that’s how immersed I was in the book:). I devoured in it in less than 3 days. Matt says that I had my nose stuck in the book at all hours of the day!
I borrowed the book from my friend Louiselle but you can buy a copy from here: Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy
What have you been reading lately? Do you have any book recommendation?
I would love to hear from you!
Quotes from the book which are stuck in my head..the first one especially:)
“Why does turning on a TV these days require three remotes with ninety buttons? Why”
“…he picked me up in his arms, as if I was as light as a feather, which I am not, unless it was a very heavy feather, maybe from a giant prehistoric dinosaur-type bird…”
“You see, things being good has nothing to do with how you feel outside, it is all to do with how you are inside”
